Chanel and Wynand’s De Zeven Wedding in the Cape Winelands

I photographed Chanel and Wynand’s proposal a few months before their wedding, and after hearing about everything they were planning, I knew their celebration would be something incredibly special.

The couple travelled from Pretoria to get married at De Zeven Guest Lodge, an absolute gem hidden within the Banhoek Valley between Stellenbosch and Franschhoek. Surrounded by magnificent mountains, beautiful accommodation and the peaceful atmosphere of the Cape Winelands, De Zeven is a dream destination wedding venue for couples wanting an intimate celebration with their closest people.

Chanel and Wynand exchanged their vows outside beside the pool, with mountains rising around them in every direction. It was truly spectacular. The landscape created an incredible setting, but the most beautiful part was the quiet confidence they both carried throughout the day. There was a steadiness in the way they loved one another and a genuine warmth in the way they welcomed and celebrated their people.

Having already photographed their proposal made documenting the wedding feel even more meaningful. I loved seeing their story continue from the excitement of their engagement into the joy and significance of their wedding day.

Nikki, Adriaan and the entire De Zeven team were exceptional. Everything they did was approached with warmth, care and excellence. Their thoughtful in house coordination allowed the couple and their guests to relax, remain present and enjoy the experience fully.

Craig from The Goose Roasters created the most incredible food and SALT tasting experience. Nerina Roos created Chanel’s beautiful bridal makeup, while Sanmarie Hair and Makeup completed her look with the most elegant hair styling.
