Alex and Kyra’s Joyful Kleine Rijke Wedding

Photographing Alex and Kyra’s proposal meant that I had already witnessed the beginning of this beautiful chapter in their lives. Even then, their happiness, playfulness and genuine affection for one another were impossible to miss. A few months later, seeing them surrounded by their closest family and friends at Kleine Rijke felt like returning to a story I had already been deeply privileged to document.

Their wedding took place in Kleine Rijke’s distinctive wooden chapel in Hartbeespoort. The natural textures, sculptural architecture and warmth of the wooden structure created an intimate and sacred setting as Alex and Kyra chose one another before God and their people. It was a ceremony filled with meaning, joy and a deep sense of certainty. The setting complemented them beautifully and gave every moment a wonderful sense of place.

What stayed with me most was the kindness Alex and Kyra showed one another and everyone around them. Their love was not only visible in the big moments, but in the way they laughed together, looked after their people and moved through the day with such warmth. Capturing their wedding was an absolute joy and an incredible honour. From their proposal to their vows, it has been so special to preserve a piece of their journey and create photographs that will always remind them of the day they began this new adventure together.
