Weltevreden Estate, Abigail and Josh

I have always wanted to do a styled shoot! I love photographing the details at a wedding and this was my opportunity to create a story with a few of my favorite elements. The three most important details for me for a bride are the flowers, the make up and the dress! I love big beautiful and elaborate bouquets, I love dresses that can move and make a bride feel comfortable and I love a make up artist’s that can give a bride a natural yet breathtaking look!

I couldn’t have done the styled shoot without the amazing service providers that were willing to be apart of my dream and vision to create a wedding styled shoot that had a relaxed garden feel.

Apart from attention to detail, I’ve always loved greenery!! I enjoyed photographing the shoot in the garden and the contrast photographs for something different against the concrete wall. There are also photographs inside the venues chapel, carrying your decor element into the ceremony area makes all the difference! The styled shoot was taken at Weltevreden Estate which is one of my favorite venues to this day. Thank you to Janine and the team for your friendly service and willingness to be a part of the shoot.

A big thank you to Amanda from Kadou – Decor and Flower Design. You are so talented and it was such an honor to work with you. Thank you for your time and everything you did for the success of this shoot. I appreciate you!

Thank you to Janita Toerien Wedding Gowns for the beautiful wedding dress, to Marli Basson Professional Hair and Make up Artist for the stunning make up and hair, to Moi Styling for the very handsome suit, to Beate at Birdcage for the cake, to Lezanne from Lezanne’s Designs – Wedding Stationery for the stunning invitation and menu design,to the awesome models Abigail and Josh-you guys were so much fun and to my assistant Margriet- you are the best!

A tip for future brides; these photographs were taken 2 hours before sunset. This is the best time to photographs couple’s for beautiful soft lighting! Realistically there is usually only an hour at the most on a wedding day for the couple photographs so make sure you get the timing right 🙂
